On April 15th, 2010 around 15:00 hours, the Oceanside Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with victims trapped at the intersection of Longbeach Road and Weidner Avenue.  Engine 248 [Hose Three] responded along with Ladder 2442 [Ladder One] to the scene.
The Mercury Sable involved in the accident collided with this pump truck which was towing a trailer behind it.  The truck ended up on the sidewalk just missing the telephone pole.
After just a few minutes, the passenger was extricated from the vehicle after firefighters were forced to remove both doors from the passenger side of the vehicle.

Shortly after noon on November 22nd, 2010 the Oceanside Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire at 2748 Soper Avenue.  Oceanside E248 pulled first in, picking up the hydrant at Starks Place and stretched in.  Oceanside E243 pulled second in and picked up the hydrant on Anderson Street.
Mutual aid was called in from Rockville Centre, Freeport, and Baldwin.  The fire began in the basement and worked its way up to the second floor of the home.  Firefighters had the fire knocked down quickly.

Just as school had let out for the day at Oceanside High School on Thursday, May 31st an accident occurred just blocks from the school.  The motor vehicle accident was a one vehicle accident that sent a Mercedes SUV into a tree a Brower Avenue and Benjamin Road.  Inside the vehicle were four teenage girls, all students of the nearby high school.  Because of the number of occupants inside the vehicle, additional ambulances were requested to the scene to transport the aided.
Oceanside sent their ambulances [242 and 242A] to the scene and each transported one victim to Winthrop Hospital.  County Ambulance 2394 and Baldwin Ambulance 2010 transported one each as well to Winthrop Hospital.  Island Park sent ambulance 222 to the scene but did not transport and East Rock bus 408 stood by in Oceanside headquarters.  All four aided were seventeen and under and complaining of head, neck, and back pain.  All fire department units were under the command of First Assistant Chief Klein [241A].
