NCPD ESU Officer Lopez Memorial Service [10-23-22]

The annual memorial service for Nassau County Police Emergency Services Unit Officer Arthur Lopez was held on the morning of Sunday, October 23rd, 2022. The annual service takes place at Jamaica Avenue and 241st Street in Bellerose Terrace, Queens where Officer Lopez was shot and killed in the line of duty on October 23rd, 2012, following a traffic stop. During the service the time was taken to remember Raymond Facey – an innocent motorist who was shot and killed by the same suspect. Among those who spoke were Artie’s former partner and longtime friend Keith Blum, Nassau County PBA President Thomas Shevlin, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, and Artie’s mother. A second service followed at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury where Officer Lopez was buried. May Artie and Mr. Facey continue to rest in peace.
