Park Avenue [9-3-22]

In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 3rd, 2022, the Amityville Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Broadway and Park Avenue. Those first to arrive on scene were met with a two-car accident with a Nissan sedan into a tree and a Mercedes Benz sedan into a building causing significant structural damage to two storefronts. A Technical Rescue response was requested, and resources responded from East Farmingdale and West Babylon. In addition, an ambulance and Heavy Rescue was requested from the North Amityville Fire Company. The driver of the Mercedes Benz was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. Three passengers from the luxury sedan and the driver of the Nissan were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. All fire department units were under the command of Amityville First Assistant Chief Juliano [1-1-31].
