Atlantic and Verity [6-7-12]
First Precinct officers were the first to respond to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcyclist on the morning of June 7th. The location of the incident was Atlantic Avenue and Verity Lane. Moments after the first officers arrived, the call was toned out for the Baldwin Fire Department. When the call was dispatched for the fire department it stated the possibility of entrapment; however, this proved untrue. Baldwin Ambulances 2010 and 2010A along with Engine 202 responded to the scene. The involved motorcycle was struck by a Ford passenger van, sending the motorcyclist off of his bike and into a nearby telephone pole. The force of the impact ripped the engine from the Honda bike. The injured biker was immediately tended to by medics on scene and was transported to South Nassau Communities Hospital in County Ambulance 2364. All fire department units were under the command of Baldwin Assistant Chief Brancato [2051].
