Barnes Avenue [2-9-20]

The Baldwin Fire Department was dispatched to an automatic alarm at a home on Barnes Avenue on the night of Sunday, February 9th, 2020. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing from a two-story private dwelling. Firefighters found fire on the first floor of the home and a signal ten [working fire] was transmitted. Freeport was designated the FAST and responded to the scene with Ladder 218. Firefighters put one hand line into operation off Engine 202 resulting in a quick knockdown of the fire. Standing by for Baldwin during the operation were units from Rockville Centre, Freeport, and South Hempstead. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Baldwin Chief of Department Lee Streithorst [205].
