Edward Court [1-19-20]

Late on the afternoon of Sunday, January 19th, 2020 the Baldwin Fire Department was called to an automatic alarm at a home on Edward Court in the dead end off East Stanton Avenue. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing from a two-story private dwelling. Upon further investigation fire was located on the second floor of the residence. The alarm was upgraded to a general alarm and a signal ten [working fire] was transmitted. Firefighters stretched two hand lines and put at least one line into operation. Among the departments called for mutual aid was Freeport, Hempstead, and South Hempstead. One occupant was removed from the home and evaluated by medical personnel for non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Baldwin Second Deputy Chief Cummings [2052].
