Northern Boulevard [8-31-12]
Nassau County Police’s First Precinct was the first to receive a call for an auto accident with injury and car into a house at 914 Northern Boulevard in Baldwin. Aside from sending units of their own, the police also notified the fire department of the incident. At 14:05 hours, the Baldwin FD went out with a general alarm for the accident. Upon arrival, first units on scene were met with a single vehicle accident. The Toyota Camry involved continued down Grand Boulevard without turning, hopped a curb, and crashed into the brick stairs of a residence. First Deputy Chief Brancato was the incident commander and held Ladder 206, Engine 202, and both Baldwin FD ambulances. Two people were removed from the vehicle and transported. The driver, a ninety-four year old man, was complaining of chest pains from the airbag deployment. A trauma team was provided for the driver at South Nassau due to the mechanism of his injury.
