Manchester Street [4-2-17]

On the morning of Sunday, April 1st, 2017 the Carle Place Fire Department was dispatched to a reported bedroom fire at 170 Manchester Street off Cherry Lane. When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with a bedroom fire on the second floor of a two-story private dwelling. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and Mineola notified for the FAST. Carle Place Engine 917 was the first engine company to arrive on scene and had two lines stretched with at least one going into operation. Firefighters made a quick knockdown despite collier’s mansion type conditions. Additional mutual aid was provided by Westbury, Hicksville, and East Williston. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
