Westbury Avenue [1-9-16]

The Carle Place Fire Department ended their long drought without a working fire late on the morning of Saturday, January 9th, 2016 when they were dispatched to a report of a building fire at 550 Westbury Avenue. Nassau County Police officers who arrived prior to the fire department’s arrival were advising of a working fire. When the first fire department units arrived on scene they were met with a fire inside of a one story taxpayer and a working fire was transmitted. Mutual aid was called from Westbury, Hicksville, Mineola, and East Williston among others. The scene was placed under control in approximately thirty minutes. The cause of the fire was under investigation and firefighters were able to contain the fire to one store in the taxpayer.
