Dante Place [4-19-22]

Late on the night of Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, the Copiague Fire Department operated on the scene of a working fire on Dante Place in the dead end off Wilson Avenue. Firefighters battled heavy fire in the attic area of a one-story private dwelling with flames becoming visible through the roof. Three hand lines were put into operation which led to the main body of fire being quickly knocked down. Lindenhurst and Amityville were among the departments called for mutual aid. The scene was placed under control within twenty-five minutes and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
