Apple Lane [2-21-20]

Minutes after 02:00 hours on the morning of Friday, February 21st, 2020 the East Meadow Fire Department was called to a deck fire at a home on Apple Lane off Spruce Lane. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing from a one-story private dwelling and found fire on the number two side of the residence around a small deck. Upon further investigation it appeared that the fire began in the basement of the home and burned its way up. Firefighters put at least one hand line into operation off East Meadow Engine 612 and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
