Larkfield Road [6-21-12]

On the hot summer afternoon of June 21st, the East Northport Fire Department responded to a reported truck fire behind Munro Music on Larkfield Road. Due to the tight confines of the rear parking lot, only one engine company [2-10-1] was able to make it through. When firefighters arrived they found no fire condition; however witnesses reported that brakes “exploded” and knocked any initial fire down with a nearby extinguisher. Firefighters used additional cans to contain the condition before stretching and operating a line off the engine. An additional engine was requested to the scene and moments later ENFD Engine 2-10-4 was on scene. East Northport ambulance 2-10-5 was also on scene, firefighters had the scene secured around twenty minutes.
