Linden Lane [7-24-19]
On the night of Wednesday, July 24th, 2019 the East Norwich Fire Department was called to a garage fire at a home on Linden Lane off Northern Boulevard in Old Brookville. When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with heavy smoke and fire showing from the garage area on the number four side of a large two-story private dwelling. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted – the department’s second in as many days. Due to the significant amount of fire there was extension throughout the first and second floors as well as the attic of the home. The warm outside temperatures and volume of fire led to additional alarms being reached as the operation went on. Multiple fire departments, including a pair from Suffolk [Cold Spring Harbor and Huntington Manor], were called for mutual aid. Aside from various fire departments many other resources and agencies were on hand including Nassau OEM, Nassau County Fire Marshal, and Nassau County Fire Communications. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire was said to be a car fire.
