Jacob Street [2-22-19]
Late on the night of Friday, February 22nd, 2019 firefighters operated on the scene of a house fire on Jacob Street in Elmont. The main body of fire was located on the second floor of a two-story private dwelling. Elmont Engine 703 and Ladder 708 were the first engine and truck companies to arrive on scene. At least two hand lines were stretched and put into operation. Additional mutual to the scene was called from Valley Stream and Floral Park. Standing by for Elmont during the operation was an engine from Bellerose Terrace, Franklin Square Ladder 713, and an ambulance from Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corp. Despite early reports of people trapped all occupants made it safely out of the house. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Elmont Chief of Department Joseph Luckman [7010].
