Village Avenue [5-3-15]

In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 3rd, 2015 the Elmont Fire Department operated on the scene of a working fire at 21 Village Avenue off of Elmont Road. The fire was inside of a laundromat – one of many stores in a one story taxpayer. Upon arrival units were met with heavy fire exposing itself from the rear of the store. Valley Stream was designated the FAST and responded with Ladder 345. Lawrence Cedarhurst Ladder 325 and Floral Park Ladder 123 were also on the scene. Firefighters were able to get a good hold on the fire and contain it primarily to one store. Units from Bellerose Terrace, Franklin Square, and Stewart Manor stood by for Elmont during the operation. All fire department units were under the command of Elmont Chief of Department Rob Schriefer [7010].
