Elizabeth Street [7-1-19]

On the afternoon of Monday, July 1st, 2019 the Farmingdale Fire Department was called to the intersection of Secatogue Avenue and Front Street for smoke from the roof of a building. Upon arriving on scene and investigating firefighters found a smoke condition from the roof of 40 Elizabeth Street – a newer style three story OMD. Firefighters found a fire on the roof of the building leading to the transmission of a signal ten [working fire]. One hand line was stretched and put into operation resulting in a quick knockdown of the fire and extension being kept to a minimum. Among the departments called for mutual aid were Plainview, Bethpage, South Farmingdale, East Farmingdale, and North Massapequa. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
