Peters Clam Eating Contest [8-14-22]

Peter’s Clam Bar of Island Park held its eighth annual clam eating contest on the afternoon of Sunday, August 14th, 2022. As in years past the firehouse challenge took place at one p.m. followed by the public challenge at two p.m. Proceeds and donations made at this year’s firehouse challenge were put towards the Coopstrong Foundation. The foundation is raising money for Cooper Graham – the son of Michael and Rachel Graham. Mike is a current Oceanside Fire Commissioner and a member of Terrace Hose Company No. 3. After several rounds and clams the top three finishers were Janes Sprizzo [East Rockaway FD], Scott Ballard [Stewart Manor FD], and Phillip Kraese [Huntington Manor FD].
