2012 6th Battalion [9-15-12]

The 2012 Sixth Battalion Parade was hosted by the Seaford Fire Department on the evening of September 15th. The parade began at the Seaford train station and continued southbound on Washington Avenue until it reached Merrick Road. Once at Merrick Road, the parade headed westbound and then up to the intersection of Southard and Waverly, the location of Seaford fire headquarters. The parade consisted of fire departments from Bellmore, East Meadow, Levittown, Massapequa, Merrick, North Bellmore, North Massapequa, North Merrick, Seaford, and Wantagh. The Amityville Fire Department was also invited to the parade. The North Massapequa Fire Department took the award for best appearing overall and also had the best band [the West Islip Brewers]. Seaford had the most men in line based upon percentage, North Merrick the best appearing color guard, Bellmore the best juniors, and North Bellmore the best ladies auxiliary.
