Howard Avenue [7-13-22]

Late on the night of Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, the Franklin Square and Munson Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a detached garage fire on Howard Avenue off Caryl Street. Those first to arrive on scene were met with a confirmed garage fire and a signal ten [working fire] was given. Moments later an urgent was transmitted for extension into a private dwelling which led to the transmission of a second alarm. Despite multiple vehicles burning, hazardous materials, and a collapse of the garage firefighters had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. Extension into the residence was kept to a minimum and at least one firefighter was treated for unspecified injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Franklin Square and Munson Chief of Department Joseph Gerrato [7100].
