Munson Avenue [9-6-19]

The Franklin Square and Munson Fire Department along with mutual aid units operated on the scene of a second alarm signal ten [working fire] on the night of Friday, September 6th, 2019. The incident was located on Munson Avenue between Henry and Maxwell Streets. Those first to arrive on scene were met with a fully involved detached garage fire. Due to the volume of fire and proximity to exposures there was extension into two additional structures which led command to transmit a second alarm. Among the departments called for mutual aid was Lakeview, West Hempstead, Malverne, New Hyde Park, and Garden City among others. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Franklin Square and Munson Chief of Department John Salzman [7100].
