Rosegold Avenue [12-12-18]
Late on the night of Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 the Franklin Square and Munson Fire Department was called to an attic fire in a home on Rosegold Avenue off Franklin Avenue. Franklin Square Chief of Department Salzman was among the first to arrive on scene and after performing a size up of the home reported smoke showing. Moments later the chief transmitted a signal ten [working fire] after confirming fire in the attic of the home. Elmont was designated the FAST. A ladder from Garden City and an ambulance from Lakeview also responded to the scene. Two hand lines were stretched with at least one line going into operation. The cause of the fire is under investigation. An engine from West Hempstead and a ladder from Malverne stood by for Franklin Square during the operation. All fire department units were under the command of Franklin Square Chief of Department Salzman [7100].
