Freeport-Merrick Rotary Club Dinner [2-28-19]

On the night of Thursday, February 28th, 2019 the Freeport-Merrick Rotary Club held the Jerry Tedeschi and Mark Treske Civic Leadership Award Dinner for the Freeport Fire Department. At the event Freeport Ex-Chief Lee Tucholski and Ex-Captain Ed Friedman were recognized for their many years of service and dedication to the community. Tucholski [a fifty plus year member] was Chief of the Department in 1985, helped form the department’s underwater search and rescue team, and most recently served as chairman of the Nassau County Memorial Service and the department’s 125th anniversary committee. Friedman [a forty plus year member] was Emergency Company No. 9’s captain in 1999 and 2003 as well as the Fire Police Squad in 2016. Ed is also the chairman of the fire department’s public fire safety division and assisted with the 125th anniversary committee and journal.
