South Long Beach Avenue [6-6-17]

Late on the night of Tuesday, June 6th, 2017 the Freeport Fire Department was called to a motor vehicle accident with possible car fire at the intersection of South Long Beach Avenue and Whaley Street. When fire department units arrived on scene they were met with a car versus pole with negative fire; however, the driver’s door needed to be removed. Freeport Heavy Rescue 217-2 was quickly on scene with the tool in operation. The driver, the only occupant in the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital. Freeport Hose 3 was also on scene. All fire department units were under the command of Freeport Chief of Department Colgan [2100] and Freeport Police were investigating.
