South Main Street [7-13-16]
On the evening of Wednesday, July 13th, 2016 the Freeport Fire Department was dispatched to an automatic alarm at 391 through 405 South Main Street – a row of stores they have been called to many times for automatic alarms. However, as units were responding they were advised that a second call was reporting a car into a building at the location. When fire department units arrived on scene they confirmed that both calls were one in the same and that they had a car into the building. Freeport firefighters checked the structural integrity of the damaged Subway restaurant while the elderly driver was evaluated on scene by medical personnel. All fire department units were under the command of Freeport Chief of Department Kenny Vancott [2100].
