South Main Street [9-6-15]
At 06:43 hours on the morning of Saturday, September 6th, 2015 the Freeport Fire Department was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with overturn at the intersection of East Sunrise Highway and South Main Street. When fire department units arrived on scene they found an overturned tractor trailer resting on its driver’s side on South Main Street just south of Sunrise Highway. The driver of the truck was the only one inside and was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries after he self-extricated. No pedestrians or other vehicles were involved in the accident; however the truck and nearby scaffolding sustained major damage. All fire department units were under the command of First Assistant Chief Kenny Van Cott [2101]. The truck was up righted approximately six hours after it overturned.
