West Sunrise and Bayview [4-29-13]
Minutes after two a.m. on the morning of April 29th the Freeport Fire Department was dispatched to a reported overturn with entrapment. The address given to responding units was West Sunrise Highway and Bayview Avenue. Moments after the call was toned out it was said that there was no pin on scene and that the driver had self-extricated. The first units to arrive on scene confirmed this. These units also found an unusual instance in which a Honda coupe struck a fence and came to rest on its side with only a small pole holding it up. Engine 216 stretched a line for precautionary measures. Ladder 217, Rescue 217-2, and Ambulance 219 were also on scene. The driver of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital in County Ambulance 2361. All fire department units were under the command of Chief of Department Kistela [2100]. Aimes Collision came to upright and remove the vehicle.
