Avalon Road [10-15-19]

On the morning of Tuesday, October 15th, 2019 firefighters operated on the scene of a second alarm house fire on Avalon Road in Garden City [between Iris and Surrey Lanes]. The main body of fire was in the attic of a two-story split-level style private dwelling. Three hand lines were stretched with at least two hand lines put into operation. Among the departments called for mutual aid were Franklin Square, New Hyde Park, Mineola, and Westbury among others. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Garden City First Assistant Chief Moody [1401].
