Hilton Avenue [9-5-20]

In the early morning hours of Saturday, September 5th, 2020 the Garden City Fire Department was called to a house fire on Hilton Avenue off Stewart Avenue. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with heavy fire showing from a large two and a half story private dwelling leading to the transmission of a signal ten [working fire]. This was quickly followed by the request for a second alarm procedure. Firefighters put multiple hand lines into operation as they battled fire on the first and second floors as well as in the attic. Several departments were called for mutual aid including New Hyde Park, Franklin Square and Munson, Garden City Park, Mineola, Floral Park, West Hempstead, Hempstead, and Williston Park, among others. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
