Marcus Avenue [4-12-22]

On the night of Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 the Garden City Park Fire Department operated on the scene of two working fires within a couple of hours of each other. The second of these fires took place in a two-story private dwelling on Marcus Avenue off Betty Road. Firefighters put one hand line into operation for a kitchen fire. The main body of fire was quickly knocked down and the cause is under investigation. New Hyde Park and Mineola were among the departments called for mutual aid. All fire department units were under the command of Garden City Park Chief of Department Sarracco [1500].
