Dosoris Lane [3-14-21]

On the night of Sunday, March 14th, 2021 the Glen Cove Fire Department was called to an unknown type on the grounds of The Glen Cove Mansion. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with a well involved structure burning at the rear of the property [closer to Lattingtown Road]. In addition to fire in the one and a half story structure an adjacent trailer and several nearby brush fires were also burning. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid notified. Firefighters put multiple hand lines into operation to extinguish the fires. One occupant was rescued from the structure by Glen Cove Police prior to the fire department’s arrival. The occupant was evaluated on scene by Glen Cove EMS and was not seriously injured. Among the departments called for mutual aid was Glenwood, Locust Valley, and Roslyn. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
