Germaine Street [3-9-20]
On the night of Monday, March 9th, 2020 the Glen Cove Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire on Germaine Street between McLoughlin Street and Landing Road. Glen Cove First Assistant Chief Retoske was among the first on scene and transmitted a signal ten [working fire] for a fire on the second floor of a two-story private dwelling. Sea Cliff was designated the FAST and responded to the scene with Ladder 574. Also, on scene was an engine from Glenwood and Ladder 546 from Locust Valley. The fire was quickly knocked down and the cause is under investigation. One occupant from the home was being evaluated by medical personnel. Standing by for Glen Cove during the operation was East Norwich Engine 518, Oyster Bay Ladder 554 and Glenwood Ambulance 5361.
