Ridge Drive [7-18-19]

In the early morning hours of Thursday, July 18th, 2019 the Glen Cove Fire Department was called to a house fire on Ridge Drive in the dead end off Jerry Lane. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with fire showing from a one-story private dwelling. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid notified. Firefighters put at least two hand lines into operation to extinguish the fire which went on to reach a second alarm equivalency. Among the departments called for mutual aid were Glenwood, Roslyn Highlands, Oyster Bay, Locust Valley, and Bayville. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The home appeared to be vacant and undergoing renovations at the time of the fire. All fire department units were under the command of Glen Cove Chief of Department Marino [5200].
