Railroad Avenue [3-22-16]
Late on the morning of Tuesday, March 22nd the Glenwood Fire Department was notified for a male who had been electrocuted. The incident was located on Railroad Avenue off of Glen Head Road. A forthwith response was requested for both the ambulance and tower ladder due to the victim being located atop a building. Nassau County Police, EAB, and ESU along with fire department units were quickly on scene. First responders accessed the victim using ground ladders and then brought him down using Glenwood Tower Ladder 538. The victim was packaged and transported in serious condition by Nassau County Police Ambulance 2366. Nassau County Police Helicopter 4 was notified of the incident and landed in the schoolyard of the nearby Glen Head Elementary School but later given a disregard. All fire department units were under the command of Glenwood Assistant Chief Jeff Papasidero [5301]. It was later stated the victim was a painter contracted by LIPA to perform work for them and who came in contact with thirteen thousand volts.
