Cutter Mill Road [6-25-20]
On Thursday, June 25th, 2020 the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Company was dispatched to a structure fire on Cutter Mill Road off Middle Neck Road. When Chief of Department Josh Charry arrived on scene he transmitted a signal ten [working fire] for fire in a one-story taxpayer. Firefighters battled heavy fire throughout the building which was made up four different storefronts. During its peak, the operation reached a fifth alarm equivalency. The fire took approximately two and a half hours to bring under control. Ten first responders were evaluated by EMS on scene with three transported to North Shore University Hospital [all injuries were said to be minor]. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
