Long Beach and Botsford [7-24-12]
While driving through Hempstead on the afternoon of July 24th, a superintendent of the Plainview Fire Department came across a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Long Beach Road and Botsford Street. Upon checking for aided, he confirmed that there was entrapment on scene. The Hempstead Fire Department and Nassau County Emergency Services were dispatched to the scene. First arriving units found one victim trapped inside her Toyota sedan while the other accident victim, a thirty-two year old male, was out on the roadway with a lacerated hand. The female was freed after tools were put into operation by members of Southside Ladder 2. The female victim was transported by NSLIJ, the male victim via Hempstead Rescue Squad. Along with Ladder 2, Hempstead Engine 2 was on scene. All Hempstead units were under the command of Chief Clark for the three vehicle accident.
