Florence Avenue [9-13-15]
At 06:56 hours on the morning of Sunday, September 13th, 2015 the Hempstead Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 66 Florence Avenue off of Jerusalem Avenue. When fire department units arrived on scene they found heavy smoke pushing from the attic of 62 Florence Avenue leading to the transmission of the working fire. Hempstead Engine One was the first engine company to arrive on scene and had three lines stretched with two in operation. Hempstead Ladder Two was the first truck company to arrive on scene and took to the front of the home. West Hempstead responded with Ladder 765 as the FAST while South Hempstead sent Engine 741 to the scene. Standing by for Hempstead during the operation were units from Baldwin, Uniondale, and Lakeview. All fire department units were under the command of Hempstead Chief of Department Roger Faulk [80].
