Cornell Street [12-25-16]

Late on Christmas night 2016 the Hempstead Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a house fire at 262 Cornell Street off Boylston Street. Upon the arrival of firefighters, a working fire was transmitted; however, after a few minutes mutual aid units were disregarded and command held with units on scene. The fire was contained to a small area on the number two side of a two-story private dwelling. Hose 2 and Ladder 2 were the first engine and truck companies to arrive on scene. The fire was quickly knocked down and there were no reported injuries. An immediate response from the marshal was requested to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.
