Meadowbrook Road [7-18-17]

On the night of Tuesday, July 18th, 2017 a civilian drove up to Hempstead Fire Headquarters on Clinton Street and alerted firefighters of a fire. Moments later the Hempstead Fire Department was dispatched to a reported shed fire at 26 Meadowbrook Road between Fulton Avenue and Butler Place. When firefighters arrived on scene they were met with a confirmed shed fire in the rear yard of the home with potential exposure issues. Two lines [one from Meadowbrook Road and one from Courtenay Road] were stretched and put into operation to put out the fire. Despite melted siding on the number three side of the Meadowbrook Road home there was no extension inside. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Hempstead First Assistant Chief Giardino [81].
