Rhodes Avenue [12-16-17]

Hempstead Hose 2 and Ladder 2 were the first engine and truck companies to arrive on the scene of a working fire at 225 Rhodes Avenue off Westbury Boulevard on the night of Saturday, December 16th, 2017. The main body of fire was in the basement of a two-story private dwelling and Uniondale was designated the FAST for the operation. During the incident Uniondale was put to work as an additional truck company and Rockville Centre was redirected to the scene as the new FAST. Also on scene was an ambulance from Lakeview. Units from Roosevelt and South Hempstead stood by for Hempstead during the operation. All occupants made it safely out of the home and at least one hand line was stretched and put into operation. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command Hempstead Chief of Department Sandas [80].
