South Oyster Bay Road [9-14-22]

On the evening of Wednesday, September 14th, 2022, the Hicksville Fire Department was dispatched to a building fire at the Days Inn on South Oyster Bay Road. Those first to arrive on scene were met with smoke showing. Upon further investigation fire was found between the first and second floors of the hotel and a signal ten [working fire] was transmitted along with the request for mutual aid. The fire required extensive overhaul due to the building’s construction and reached at least a second alarm equivalency. Firefighters stretched three hand lines and put two of those hand lines into operation. All occupants made it safely out of the building and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Hicksville Chief of Department Moskos [9301] had command of the incident.
