On the night of Thursday, May 21st, 2020 the Island Park Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Radcliffe Road off Lancaster Place. The fire was located around the deck area of a vacant house that had burned years prior. On the initial phone alarm Island Park received one engine, one ladder, and one ambulance from the City of Long Beach. Engine 2344, Ladder 2372, and Ambulance 2321 responded. Oceanside was designated the FAST for the operation. Firefighters put at least one hand line into operation, had the fire quickly knocked down, and kept it from extending into the previously burned out residence. Units from Point Lookout-Lido and Oceanside stood by for Island Park. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Island Park Chief of Department Frank Eye [221].
