Narcissus Avenue [1-26-19]
On the afternoon of Saturday, January 26th, 2019 the Jericho Fire Department was called to a house fire on Narcissus Avenue off Elmtree Lane. Syosset was also notified for an engine as part of the automatic mutual aid policy. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with smoke showing and visible fire on the number four side of a two-story private dwelling. A signal ten [working fire] was then transmitted. Syosset was designated the FAST and responded to the scene with Heavy Rescue 588. Westbury was called for a working truck at the scene and responded with Ladder 963. Two hand lines were stretched with one line put into operation resulting in a quick knockdown of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Standing by for Jericho during the operation was a ladder from Bethpage, an engine from Hicksville, and an ambulance from Glenwood. All fire department units were under the command of Jericho Chief of Department Ketsoglou [9401].
