Dekoven Street [2-5-12]
For the second time in less than twelve hours, the Lakeview Fire Department responded to a working house fire at 1294 Dekoven Street, just off of Lakeview Avenue. The first Super Bowl Sunday fire occurred just after one-thirty p.m., while the second came in just after eleven p.m. Upon arrival of the first fire, units were met with considerable fire alongside the exterior of the number two side. During the night run, incoming units were met by a much heavier fire load auto exposing itself from the second floor one and two sides. Requested mutual aid units were immediately directed to the scene. These units included Rockville Centre Ladder 447 [took position in front of the home alongside Lakeview Truck Company], Malverne Ladder 434, a West Hempstead Engine, and a Lynbrook Truck. Rockville Centre also set up a rehab center in front of a neighboring home. For both fires, units were under the command of Lakeview Chief Koppel.
