Melvin Avenue [11-2-21]

In the afternoon hours of Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021, the Lakeview Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a signal ten [working fire] on Melvin Avenue off Woodfield Road. The main body of fire was in the basement of a two-story private dwelling. Firefighters stretched two hand lines and put one of those hand lines into operation. The fire was quickly knocked down and did not extend to the floors above. One occupant was evaluated by medical personnel on scene and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Lakeview Chief of Department Galia [4100].
