East Park Avenue [9-29-19]

As Long Beach fire units along with mutual aid companies were still operating on the scene of an East Walnut Street house fire [on the morning of Sunday, September 29th, 2019] two three zero fire dispatch alerted the department to a shed fire on East Park Avenue off Lincoln Boulevard. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they were met with heavy fire involving a shed with extension to two homes. A signal ten [working fire] was immediately transmitted – the department’s second within one hour. Firefighters put multiple hand lines into operation to fight the fire which extended into the attic area of at least one home. Among the departments called for mutual aid were Lawrence Cedarhurst, Oceanside, Inwood, and Island Park on scene as the FAST. All fire department units were under the command of Long Beach Chief of Department DiGiacomo [231] and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
