West Chester Street [12-3-20]
At 03:51 hours on the morning of Thursday, December 3rd, 2020 the Long Beach Fire Department was called to a house fire at the intersection of Laurelton Boulevard and West Chester Street. When fire department units arrived on scene, they were met with heavy fire showing from a two-story private dwelling on West Chester Street. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid notified. Firefighters went on to stretch three hand lines and put at least two of those lines into operation as they battled fire on both the first and second floors. Among the mutual aid departments called to the scene was Island Park and Lawrence-Cedarhurst while units from Freeport, Inwood, and Woodmere were called to standby. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the scene was placed under control within thirty minutes. The cause of the fire is under investigation and all fire department units were under the command of Long Beach Chief of Department DiGiacomo [231].
