West Park Avenue [1-1-21]

Late on the morning of Friday, January 1st, 2021 the Long Beach Fire Department along with mutual aid companies operated on the scene of a working fire on West Park Avenue off New York Avenue. The main body of fire was in the basement of a two-story private dwelling. Firefighters put one hand line into operation and had the main body of fire quickly knocked down. Among the mutual aid departments called to the scene was Lawrence-Cedarhurst, Woodmere, Inwood, and Atlantic Beach Rescue. All occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Long Beach Chief of Department Rick DiGiacomo [231].
