Granada Place [5-16-21]
On the afternoon of Sunday, May 16th, 2021 the Massapequa Fire Department was called to a house fire on Granada Place in the dead end off Alhambra Road. When firefighters arrived on scene, they were met with heavy fire showing from the number two side of a two-story private dwelling. In addition to heavy fire showing from the structure a van was burning on the exposure two side with propane tanks an issue on the exposure three side. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid requested. Among the neighboring departments called was Seaford and Wantagh. Firefighters went on to put multiple hand lines into operation and were able to prevent the fire from extending to the adjacent residences. The occupants made it safely out of the home and the cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Massapequa Chief of Department Batt [6300].
