Ontario Avenue [6-19-21]

Around 01:15 hours on the morning of Saturday, June 19th, 2021, the Massapequa Fire Department was called to a garage fire on Ontario Avenue off Hicksville Road. Those first to arrive on scene were met with heavy fire showing from an attached garage with extension into a one-story private dwelling and to two vehicles in the driveway. A signal ten [working fire] was transmitted and mutual aid requested. Firefighters put multiple hand lines into operation and were able to keep the fire from extending further into the residence. Despite early reports of people possibly trapped inside the home all occupants made it out safely. The cause of the fire is under investigation. All fire department units were under the command of Massapequa Chief of Department Batt [6300].
