Elsie Avenue [6-26-16]

The Merrick Fire Department was dispatched to a reported garage fire at 247 Elsie Avenue off of Meadowbrook Road on the afternoon of Sunday, June 26th, 2016. Upon arrival of the first fire department units a working fire was transmitted and Freeport was notified for the FAST. Merrick Empire Engine 642 pulled in first due and put one line into operation to contain the detached garage fire. The fire was quickly knocked down under the command of Merrick Chief of Department Tommy Gies [6400]. This was the department’s second working fire in as many days.
